We give Kane & Lynch credit for a great plot worthwhile of a Hollywood movie. You play two men in this game, Kane a mercenary and Lynch a psychopath. Kane and Lynch are both prisoners and manage to escape together. Now they must help each other survive and retrieve some merchandise for a group of mercenaries known as The7.
Of course, that's just the beginning. There's plenty of plot twists worthy of any action flick you've ever seen. You play the game in the third person like Gears of War. So there's a great deal of hide and shoot. You'll have to travel to Los Angeles, Tokyo, and Cuba to blow away many goons. Unfortunately, the goons are real cowardly. They don't really move around much and prefer to shoot you from a distance.
The environments are truly great in this game. You'll fight on Tokyo city streets, nightclubs, and plenty of offices. The action isn't quite as good as Gears of War, but there's plenty of it. Unfortunately, you'll have to keep your team alive. So if one of them is down, you have to run to that person and give them a shot of adrenaline, which is the equivalent of a medkit in this game.
The graphics are sharp and nicely textured. The battle conversations are annoying and they repeat often, but the sound effects and soundtrack are great. There's plenty of great cinematic fighting sequences. The big problem for us was the low framerate that will follow you throughout the game.
The game is designed for 2 player coop so you and a partner can play Kane or Lynch in the main story. There's also multiplayer with seven people on four maps. That's kind of small, but the maps cover most of the story. So you can play against each other, or the computer opponents. Single Player is average at around 8 hours.
