Naruto Xbox 360 ReviewLet's start off with what exactly is Naruto and since it's from Japan, does it involve ninjas and schoolgirl panties? And the answer is yes to both. Naruto is about ninja high school. You play the main character named Naruto. He's got two friends, a girl and a guy. They are a ninja team and they go around doing ninja stuff and having teenage angst and being perverted, especially with the girl ninja.

The game plot is basically the stories in the anime. Naruto Narutohas to go to high school and pass his ninja exit exams. We guess there were No Child Left Behind laws back then too. There's alot of growth and feelings that the Japanese anime fans love to see their character go through. We don't. But it's right up the alley of most anime fans. For Naruto fans, you get to explore the town of Konoha in 3D. It's a large town filled with many interesting things and people from the anime.

NarutoThere's plenty of side missions and you get to play as different characters depending on the mission. The missions include finding stuff, fighting stuff, and a few races. Naruto is one fast ninja so moving around the city is very easy. The fights are also in 3D. You get three fighting styles and plenty of special attacks. There's some minigames that invole the special attacks like the Dragonball Z series of fighting games.

The graphics are cell shaded with the city being more Naruto 360realistic and better looking than the characters. We wouldn't say the graphics are 360 level, but all these anime fighting games have the same cell shaded look. The sound and music are adequate, if somewhat annoying. This game is pretty bland in the graphics and sound department. The voice acting is just as anime sounding as the musical score.

Naruto features an online mode for single or tournament fighting. It's pretty fun, but nothing more than a series of 1 on 1 matches. A battle royale would have been a nice feature, but any online mode is better than none. Buy Naruto if you're a fan of the anime. Exploring Konoha is well worth the purchase. Skip it if you're not a Naruto fan. The game is shallow in the fighting and in the side missions.
