Sexy big breasted demon woman goes to your village and steals your sacred artifact to use to destroy the world. So you, as Ryu Hayabusa, have to retrieve the artifact by chasing after her and beating the crap out of a million demons and plenty of mini-bosses. If you think this seems a little lacking in story, well, Ninja Gaiden doesn't need any story, we guess.

The main attraction is the gameplay, which is fast and furious and hard. If you've ever played Gaiden on the original Xbox, you know what we mean. If not, just keep fighting because the demons come at you three or more at the same time. So you'll be jumping off of walls, tossing smoke bombs, and using special attacks nonstop. It's a real treat to watch yourself play, but you won't have much time for anything because the next three enemies are already headed your way as you're just finishing the current three demons.

There's alot of sub-bosses and monsters. They require some serious combos that you have to master, and they do serious damage. You'll have to master the environment too, because you'll need it to beat the bosses. You get all the standard ninja weapons and your trusty Dragon sword, which can power up as you gain experience.

The graphics are very good with nice particle effects and clean textures. The characters have plenty of details, but there are framerate issues on the 360, as well as camera problems. The camera problems will drive you crazy as you try to dodge and jump all over the place to avoid getting overwhelmed. The environments are very diverse. There's a huge volume of blood. There's plenty of environmental sound effects and clashing weapons. They must have forgot the soundtrack or something.

Ninja Gaiden II has no multiplayer or coop modes. It's a real disappointment and we're going to remove points for it. It's also very difficult so unless you like a challenge, you should avoid this game. But we don't lower points for difficulty. You can find better graphics and easier gameplay elsewhere. This is for hardcore arcade fans only.
