Simpsons Gamei Xbox 360 ReviewFinally, a Simpson's game for the ultimate Simpsons fans. If that's not you. Stop reading. Be prepared for generic platforming and fighting circa 1993 beatemups. But if you are a Simpson's game, here's your chance to relive some of their greatest and weirdest moments. What makes it even more worthwhile is the humor you'll discover with each level you finish.

The Simpsons Game starts with Bart discovering that Simpsons Gamethere's a Simpsons Game. This leads to the family somehow getting superpowers. Then they go off on strange adventures where they get to use their superpowers for personal reasons that are pretty predictable if you've ever watched the series. Marge has to save the community. Lisa has to save the world. Bart wants to wreck havoc. And Homer is an idiot.

Simpsons The GameGetting pass the character devices, you'll discover a huge number of jokes concerning videogames, culture, famous people, and of course, the Simpsons. There is actually enough humor to overlook the generic platform jumping sequences and punch moves that always make up these types of licensed games. The Simpsons characters do have special abilities that are pretty interesting such as Marge being able to control people by nagging them with her microphone.

The graphics are great considering the cartoonish Simpsons Gamescharacters and the sound is perfect. We really like the music selection, which fits the Simpsons environment perfectly. There's plenty of material that fans of the series will get to see as they move around Springfield and other weird locales that the Simpsons have visited in one of their episodes. It's all perfectly done to the Simpsons style and way of looking at the world.

It takes about eight hours to play this game and there's coop, but no online mode. Replay is very limited. And like all licensed games of these types, the camera can be a headache when you're moving around. The Simpsons game is truly a fan's only game. The gameplay is straight from a Playstation One and the humor only lasts one renting of this game.
