Yes, this game has been released on the PS2, which means don't expect 360 next-gen anything. But it's still the best wrestling game available on the 360. The 2008 version of Smackdown versus Raw features an updated roster. Now the updated roster isn't exactly up to date as of the game's release. It's updated only to whenever the game was being developed so you'll find wrestlers in the game that aren't in the WWE right now.

The season mode is called WWE 24/7 this time. Basically, you have to take a wrestler to legendary status by winning matches and having feuds in different storylines. This game now includes ECW type wrestlers and weapons. There's one significant change in gameplay, and that is the inclusion of different wrestling styles based on the wrestler you're playing. Big wrestlers have a powerhouse style where they do more damage with their moves. There's high-flyer, hardcore, and submission styles.

The styles give the game a more strategic feel when playing online, but in single player, they seem overused by the computer. The usual wrestling finishers are also available for each wrestler. There's also a tournament mode that lets players compete in various different match types stage by stage. It's very exciting because you can skip the story and still get plenty of different match types without having to go into exhibition and select single matches.

Smackdown versus Raw has great graphics, especially the wrestlers. Their muscle tone and tattoo art really stand out. The facial expressions really need work because everybody has a dummy expression on their face. The music is solid hard rock style. The ring commentators are annoying as always. Smackdown versus Raw is still a high production game that will please any fan in the graphics department.

The 360 version features online matches that can be ranked or unranked. You can also create wrestlers and trade them online, which is very nice. However, there is no online season or 24/7 mode. Overall, the game is a good update of last year's game.
