Soldier of Fortune: Payback Game ReviewWe love it when a plan comes together, and even more when that plan involves just blowing away alot of bad guys. This one's for you sweet lady liberty and for you mom's apple pie, and for you, hot girl on the street who told us to get lost because we smell like beer and failure. If some of this sounds familiar, then welcome to Soldier of Fortune, where the bad guys are dumb and the bosses are ridiculously tough.

So your partner turns out to be a terrorist and sets you up Soldier of Fortuneand you got to get the revenge and stop the terrorists from terrorizing. The story and dialogue are straight from one of those bad 80's film. There's nothing deep or interactive about the story. But this is Soldier of Fortune, so you're not in it for much other than money and revenge. Sounds like a plan to us. They give you the standard weapons a modern soldier would carry, so no surprises there.

Soldier of Fortune Payback Xbox 360 cheatBut wait, the plan goes horribly wrong when there's something on screen to kill. The AI is bad. It only has two patterns, running at you, or stand waiting to be killed. It's almost a shooting gallery thanks to the ability to blow away body parts with the soldiers still screaming in the background. The aiming in this game is awful thanks to the bugs in the hit detection.

The graphics are adequate, but nothing great for a 360 SOF: Paybacktitle. There's nice explosions and the body parts and blood go flying, which is cool, and probably why this game is banned in certain countries. The sound is average. There's nothing memorable or even noticeable about any of it. The fatalities are very interesting. Probably the only reason to get this game is to see how many ways you can kill someone.

The game takes around eight hours and there's multiplayer with the standard modes like capture the flag and deathmatch. The game is like a Troma movie, it's bad, but the sheer volume of exploding body parts and blood make it enjoyable for a rental, but a horror to own.
