Bland, generic, predictable. These are the words you often come across when reading game reviews. Well, you might see them again as you read this review because this Spider-Man game is as bland, generic, and predictable as they come. This game is so bad, it could take Spider-Man 4 and a nude Kirsten Dunst before we have any interest in Spider-Man again.

Let's start off with the plot. There's meteor fragments that are being used to control supervillains and turn them on Spider-Man. So Spider-Man must go around the world fighting these villains, try to figure out who is behind the meteor fragments, and well, save the world. And to make sure that the world is in danger, there's Nick Fury of SHIELD to assist Spider-Man with some awful dialogue like "the world is in danger" and "we have to stop them".

The only significant difference between this Spider-Man game and all the previous games is that you can control Spider-Man's enemies if you defeat them. So you can have Venom or the Green Goblin to help you fight. Does it really matter? No. Can you just combo the enemies to death? Yes. Spider-Man has plenty of web combos you can use.

The graphics are simple and cartoon-like, which is not surprising since it's a multiplatform game that's available on the PS2. The fighting is generic, although Spider-Man does have great moves and funny dialogue. But just Spider-Man. The rest of the cast kinda stinks. The sound is comparable to the graphics, which means it's nothing special. The game has clean, but dull textures and special effects. The cast of characters are all of Spider-Man's famous enemies. You won't see any mutants, the Fantastic Four, or Avengers.

The game will take you six hours with no online mode and only a two player option. But like we said, Spider-Man has all the moves so the other person playing will have to settle for a villain with limited moves. This game was obviously released to make some extra money. It's a real boring game that's not worth anyone's time, even if you're a huge Spider-Man fan.
