This is one weird game. Well actually, this is one weird looking game. But gameplay wise, it's definitely unique. But it's not for those that like 100 combo hit fun.
The story is kinda simple. You inherited a farm that's dead as the farmer who farmed it. Your job is to bring it back to life with some water, a shovel, and a some grass seeds.
Basically, you try to raise animals made out of pinata. The objective is to collect some vey rare pinatas by creating the perfect habitat for them. And there are plenty of pinata species, although you start out small by attracting the smallest pinatas.
The small pinata creatures are very easy to attract by growing some flowers or food they like like the rabbits to the right. They'll come in, set up home, and begin popping out the babies. But the larger pinatas require special effort. Some like to feed on the smaller pinata so basically, it's a chain type game where you get animal A, then animal B only if you have animal A. Kinda boring.
So to excite it up, the game creators provide Pinata death, which happens if some out of control wild pinatas attack your farm. You'll have to figure out how to tame or get rid of them.
And what's more, you'll learn to micromanage your garden by figuring out which fertilizer is the best and how to sell your pinatas and milk them for money. Because some pinatas actually produce goods just like real animals. And all pinatas can be sold regardless of whether they produce goods or not. You can even hire farm hands to help with you do your pinata farm chores. If you're still awake at this point, let us end the gaming details by saying you get to keep all this information in a journal kinda like the Farmer's Almanac. Pretty exciting huh?
Graphicwise, this game looks like a Saturday morning PBS show for kids on roids with the bright colors. If they would only blink, we could have some real excitement with seizures for everyone. The music is what you would expect from a game like this, AKA kiddie. And the animal sounds will feel like you're at a zoo 24/7. Multiplayer is non-existent and we wouldn't know how they could add it in if all you do is raise animals.
So the bottom line is whether you like a game about collecting weird animals and raising them. There's no other way to put it. If you do, this game does it well. But frankly, we don't. And they could have included minigames like racing pinatas or something that has some action. But we're not going to lower scores just because we don't like this type of gameplay. But we do lower scores if there's both no multiplayer and no replay value. This game is lacking in both departments.
